2012-2014 Subaru Impreza & 2012-2016 XV Crosstrek 2.0L Engine JDM FB20 DOHC 4-Cylinder Motor
Replace or refresh your blown factory motor with a premium, low-mileage JDM FB20 2.0L DOHC 4-Cylinder Engine. Hand-picked from running, well-maintained Japanese Domestic Market vehicles, these imported engines are an incredibly cost-effective alternative to expensive dealership rebuilds.
Every single engine undergoes rigorous multi-point testing, including strict compression tests, to ensure it meets original factory specifications. Because vehicles in Japan are driven significantly less than their North American counterparts, this JDM FB20 motor provides excellent longevity, smooth power delivery, and superior fuel economy for your daily driver.

This JDM FB20 engine serves as a replacement for the following North American (USDM) vehicles:
Subaru Impreza (Non-Turbo): 2012, 2013, 2014
Subaru XV Crosstrek: 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016
Chassis Compatibility: GP Chassis types
Fitment Note: This is an FB-series timing chain engine. It is completely incompatible with older EJ-series belt-driven engines (2011 and older Imprezas or Foresters) without extensive aftermarket modification.
⚠️ CRITICAL INSTALLATION REQUIREMENT: To ensure a clean "first-turn" start, prevent a Check Engine Light (CEL), and ensure complete emissions compliance, you must swap several external components from your original USDM engine onto this JDM longblock before drop-in.
Intake Manifold & Fuel Rail: You must transfer your original USDM intake manifold. JDM versions feature different vacuum port configurations, EGR sensors, and PCV routing that will mismatch with your US emissions hardware.
Wiring Harness: Retain and use your original USDM engine wiring harness. JDM harnesses are built for right-hand drive (RHD) vehicles and will not line up with your left-hand drive (LHD) bulkhead connections or ECU.
Engine Sensors: Swap your original, known-working USDM Camshaft and Crankshaft position sensors over to the JDM block. North American ECUs are highly sensitive to small sensor voltage variances.
Exhaust Manifolds: Bolt on your original North American exhaust manifold and headers to ensure all original oxygen sensor (AFR) bungs align with your factory catalytic converters.
Oil Pan & Sensor (If Applicable): Inspect your factory pan. If your domestic model utilizes an oil level sensor and the JDM unit lacks one, swap your factory oil pan and sensor over to the new block.
